«Carouge – Zero Waste town» : project started!

Dorinda Phillips and Leticia Regueiro for the project "Carouge - Zero Waste town"We are delighted to have won a Sustainability Competition to help Carouge (GE) start on their journey to become the first Zero Waste town in Switzerland, and hopefully inspire many others to follow! A big thank you to Leticia Regueiro, a ZeroWaste Switzerland member who initiated the project and then asked us to partner with her to bring this to life. And a big thank you to all of you who helped spread the word about the project and voted for us.

We are also collaborating with Zero Waste Europe to reapply best practices from other cities across Europe. We will keep you updated on progress later in Spring. You can find more details about part of the program on the Carouge website:

Let’s create the 1st Zero Waste town in Switzerland!

Your help to create the first Zero Waste Town in Switzerland?
Vote for us, until 31st of January!

This year we could have an exciting opportunity with the town of Carouge to help them become the first Zero Waste town in Switzerland – with all the economic, social and environmental benefits that brings with it for the citizens. And perhaps inspire other cities in Switzerland to do the same!

But we need your help to do it! Our project is one of three potential projects that could win a competition for resources and priority in the town. And the vote will be open to the public between 4th and 31st January.

If you live in Carouge and would like to help us make this project a reality, we’d love you to click on the link below and vote for us. Plus mobilise any of your friends, family and colleagues to do the same!

And if you know anyone who lives in Carouge it would be wonderful if you could share the message with them and encourage them to vote for us too. It’s a great opportunity to spread the word about the Zero Waste movement which is growing tremendously in Switzerland and in the world. Did you know that over 400 municipalities across Europe have now committed to a Zero Waste strategy? But none yet in Switzerland. It would be great if you could help us change that!
