Homemade all-purpose cleaner

Chemicals contained in the cleaning products of hypermarkets make you sick? Here is a collection of recipes to make your own multi-use grease remover and avoid coughing fits during your next cleaning session. Furthermore, it will avoid you buying and throwing away a new plastic bottle every time!

The basic

Ingredients

– Spray bottle
– A funnel
– 1 tablespoon baking soda (bicarbonate)
– 1 tablespoon spirit white vinegar
– 1l. hot water
– 10 drops essential oil: tea tree, lavander or other.

Preparation

Use the funnel to pour the bicarbonate into the bottle and add the hot water.
On a bowl on the side, mix the vinegar with essential oils and add the mixture in the bottle.
Close the bottle and shake it. Make sure to shake before every use.
This product is useful to disinfect and clean all surfaces of the house.

 

With neutral soap

Ingredients

– A spray bottle
– A funnel
– 2 tablespoons of soft-neutral soap (optional, black soap requires to be rinsed after use)
– 25 cl. spirit white vinegar
– 75 cl. water
– 20-30 drops essential oil : eucalyptus, lemon, pine ou other.

Preparation

Mix soft soap and essential oils in the spray bottle and ass the vinegar and water. Shake before use. Rinse the product after use if prepared with soft soap (black soap).

Citrus Flavor

Ingredients

– 1l. jar
– A spray bottle
– 70 cl. water
– 20 cl. spirit white vinegar
– peels of 5-6 oranges and/or lemons without pulp (use it after making your own juices!)

Preparation

Cut the oranges and lemon peels and put them in the jar with vinegar and water. Shake it and let it rest for 2 weeks. You will then be able to transfer the mixture into the spray bottle and use it to clean surfaces.

With Castile soap

Ingredients

– A spray bottle
– 2 tablespoons Castile Soap in shaving
– 1 tablespoon spirit white vinegar
– 80 cl. hot water

Preparation

Pour castile soap, vinegar and hot water into the spray bottle. Shake and pulverise on surfaces. Rub with a sponge and rinse.
