Members of the Committee
Nicolas – President
National Councillor and former municipal mayor of Carouge, Nicolas started his Zero Waste approach after having crossed paths with Bea Johnson and Jérémie Pichon and especially with the Zero Waste team in Geneva, which made his town the first “zero waste” city. The enthusiasm of the population of Carouge convinced him that ZeroWaste Switzerland represented THE solution to accompany the population towards sustainability. After having tested for himself several recommendations of ZeroWaste Switzerland, he naturally committed himself to this approach for a happy sobriety.
Renee Nicole – Vice-President
Reading and traveling are both part of Renée Nicole’s life. When she is not travelling, she does yoga or rows. Her discipline is her constant companion and driving force. Her ambition and determination have enabled her to progress as a competitive athlete, then as a humanities student (having completed her studies with a phd) and today as a sustainable development manager for a large international hotel company, being in charge of Central Europe.
Danica – Treasurer
Danica is an economist by training and works as a financial controller. In her daily life, for more than two decades, she has been asking herself questions about consumption habits, the origin of products, the unnecessary amount of waste produced and the use of natural resources in general. She adapts her consumption behaviour as best she can with her family. She discovered the Zero Waste lifestyle and the association ZeroWaste Switzerland in 2016 and organised a Zero Waste event: because you can have fun by consuming locally and producing little or no waste. She implements strategies to live in the city, work, move around while consuming locally as much as possible in season and minimizing packaging. She is also co-founder of a participatory grocery store in the city of Neuchâtel (opening soon)
Silke – Committee member
Silke studied public health, works in the medical technology industry and has been avoiding plastic bags for a long time. A 3-month trip with her husband and two children in 2019 made her aware of the urgency to protect our planet and she decided to take a more active role in protecting the environment. In Zero Waste, she found practical advice for herself and her family, and she now wants to go further as a member of the ZeroWaste Switzerland committee to promote more responsible consumer behaviour throughout Switzerland
Cyria – Committee member
An agricultural engineer with over 20 years of experience in the food industry and catering in operations, finance and quality functions, Cyria is passionate about sustainable food, projects with a positive impact on the planet, the development of short circuits and the development of people. Cyria has therefore naturally committed itself alongside ZeroWaste Switzerland in order to support the association in its development.
Pascal – Committee member
Pascal is a HES engineer in communication and management. He has been a member of the Morges City Council since 2009 and runs a family business in the fields of conflict management (mediation), coaching and diversity management. He is married and father of four daughters, his family has started to adopt Zero Waste principles since a few years. He has long been involved in environmental issues in his community, for example in the reduction of plastic waste, energy transition, etc. He is happy to support the noble and urgent mission of ZeroWaste Switzerland.
