The interest in sustainability issues began with the decision to cut all meat and fish products out of her diet. At first the reason was her empathy for all living beings, later all the associated environmental factors strengthened her decision. Soon, the theme of regional and seasonal products also became a consideration. Through her work, Aline then explored other sustainability issues and began delving deeper into how people’s behaviors were challenging the environment. Upon seeing the film “The Plastic Ocean” she was enthusiastically motivated towards the Zero Waste Movement. Aline always thought she was environmentally aware as she recycled her trash and took her own carrier bag to the grocery store. She realized that this is not enough. She became aware to the ever present pressure society puts on urging people to buy the unnecessary. That was when she made the decision to take on the Zero Waste lifestyle.
