She entered the Zero Waste world through the door of… cosmetics! A pure city dweller, it was first the desire to change her way of consuming that led her to make her own beauty products, then her household products. Later she discovered minimalism, the pleasure of surrounding herself with the essential, thus leading her to a simpler and richer life at the same time. While looking for a way to relieve herself, she discovered bartering and another way to meet people. The exchange of tips and tricks taught her to repair or reuse objects differently. She then became interested in homemade food and (re)discovered a more authentic cuisine as well as bulk purchases. Gradually, each small step leading to another, a new way of living, with one’s environment, with others and with oneself, has naturally settled in.
For Julia, the trigger came at the end of 2016, when she discovered people like Bea Johnson, Lauren Singer, the Zero Waste Family, authors, bloggers, youtubers, Zero Waste instagramers who provided concrete and positive answers to act, on their scale, in favour of the planet. Becoming a ZWS Ambassador is a way for her to share her enthusiasm for an eco-responsible and sustainable lifestyle.
